first_imgLiberia has accepted an invitation from the African Handball Confederation to participate in the International Handball Trophy tournament in Lome, Togo, from 28, July to 4, August, 2014.Liberia Handball Association president J. Mayson Saweler told the Daily Observer yesterday that the tournament will feature both boys and girls team of 14 players each.“The boys’ team will comprise of players who were born in 1995 or younger,” President Saweler said.The girls’ team, he said will also comprise of players who were born in 1994 or younger.He said there will be one head of delegation each for the male and female teams, two coaches each for both teams to attend a planned coaching course.“There will also be a couple of referees to also attend a planned referees’ course,” Saweler said.Meanwhile, this afternoon at the Sports Commission, on Broad Street in Monrovia, there will be an exciting handball matches involving both boys and girls at 2p.m.“It is the finals of the high school handball championship,” Saweler said.This afternoon’s games will include Brewerville’s Sarah Barclay High School and Monrovia’s Elizabeth Crawford High Shcool, he said.Share this:Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)last_img read more
