first_imgCHESTERTON, Ind. – The Drake University women’s golf team finished the first two rounds of the annual Missouri Valley Conference Preview in sixth place, Monday, Oct. 15, afternoon at Sand Creek Country Club.The Bulldogs finished with team rounds of 330-337 – 667 on the day to sit five strokes behind fifth-place UNI. Missouri State is leading the the three-round event at 324-328 – 642.Erica Olberding (Des Moines, Iowa) led the Bulldogs on the day with a 79-84 – 163 to sit in a tie for eighth place overall. Her first-round 79 was the fifth-best score of the opening round. The Bulldogs struggled slightly in the afternoon round on the 6,074-yard, par-72 Sand Creek Country Club course, shooting seven strokes higher with Aimee Gerschke’s (South Milwaukee, Wis.) 83 being the team’s low round. Gershcke finished the afternoon tied for 10th at 81-83 – 164. Kristen Giles (Georgetown, Ontario) and Sigurlaug Jonsdottir (Hafnarfjordur, Iceland) completed the team’s scoring with rounds of 85-85 – 169 and 85-86 – 171 respectively. Sam Paulak (Kansas City, Mo.) shot 89-90 – 179 as well. Grace Dunn (Brookfield, Wis.) competed as an individual and carded an 88-84 – 172 to tie for 36th place.The final round of the MVC Preview starts Tuesday, Oct. 16, morning at 8:30 a.m. Print Friendly Versionlast_img read more
