first_imgTo assist efforts to tackle COVID-19, the Pertamina Foundation is providing housing for medical workers treating patients at the Pertamina General Hospital in South Jakarta.The hospital, run under the Pertamina Group, is among the 132 referral hospitals for COVID-19 cases in Indonesia.The foundation will allow healthcare workers of the hospital to stay in its two guesthouses on Jl. Kyai Maja in South Jakarta starting next week. The guesthouses, located close to the hospital, were initially designated for trainees and retirees of the state-owned energy company. “Medical workers who are on call to handle the COVID-19 outbreak will stay at the guesthouses, so they don’t need to be worried about going home after treating patients at the hospital,” Pertamina Foundation president director Agus Mashud S. Asngari said in a statement on Thursday.Read also: Pertamina Hospital in Jakarta to handle coronavirus patients, laboratory testsThe initiative follows an instruction from the state-owned enterprises minister for Patra Jasa and other subsidiaries of Pertamina Group to support healthcare workers at hospitals owned by the enterprises.Pertamina Foundation asset director Nato Presdianto said the foundation had prepared 46 rooms with a capacity for 92 people. “We are ready to accept medical workers here.”The foundation has also provided lunches for healthcare workers at the Pertamina General Hospital, distributed hand sanitizer to Islamic boarding schools and orphanages and set up portable sinks at the Kemayoran athletes village in Central Jakarta, which has been transformed into a makeshift emergency hospital for COVID-19 patients.Topics :last_img
