first_img Kevin De Bruyne 1 Manchester City are not big enough to sign Kevin De Bruyne, according to his Wolfsburg coach Dieter Hecking. The Belgian midfielder is wanted by the Premier League side but his current boss cannot understand why he would want to move to the Etihad.Hecking admits a massive offer will force through a transfer but he is at a loss as to why the talented playmaker – who failed to convince Jose Mourinho during his time at Chelsea – would want to move to a side he deems outside the elite set.“You never know what will happen,” Hecking told Kicker. “We consider every offer. Kevin will only be allowed to leave the club should we receive an extraordinary offer.“Despite all my appreciation for Manchester City, it would be completely different for me if Real Madrid, Bayern or Barcelona were going for him. I’d understand everything then.”City are expected to step up their bid to sign De Bruyne this week, with reports of a £46million bid being tabled imminently.Wolfsburg’s director of sport Klaus Allofs has admitted the 24-year-old’s head has been turned by the Premier League club’s interest and Manuel Pellegrini is confident of completing a deal for the Belgian by the close of the transfer window.last_img
