first_imgDES MOINES, Iowa – The 51st edition of the Drake Road Races will take place on Saturday, April 20, 2019, featuring a new registration platform, cutting edge timing services, and race management, all provided by new partner, EnMotive, Blake Boldon, the Franklin P. Johnson Director of the Drake Relays announced Thursday, Oct. 11. All finishers of the 5k, 10k and half marathon races receive a commemorative Drake Relays Road Races 51st anniversary finishers medal, a long-sleeved technical shirt and free admission to the Thursday night Distance Carnival at the Drake Relays presented by Hy-Vee plus other exclusive special promotions and benefits. To help celebrate the partnership, prices for all three races will be 50 percent off when registration officially opens on Tuesday, Oct. 23. This exclusive discount includes the half marathon, 10k and 5k with all three races finishing in the stadium Saturday, April 20. The Drake Road Races will kick off the Drake Relays presented by Hy-Vee, which includes a full week of events for the 110th running of America’s Athletic Classic. The date also allows every competitor to be one of the first athletes to cross the finish line on the Blue Oval with all three races again finishing inside Drake Stadium.   “Joe has led at some of the most high profile running events in Chicago and many others across the country.” Boldon added, “More than that, he went to college in Iowa and his family is in the Des Moines area so we’re excited to bring him back to contribute to our running community.
